Help support literacy across Canada.
How did Village Reads Start?
Village Reads started in 2017 when Jordan Murrell, Toronto high school student, decided that she wanted to make a difference in her community. Passionate about reading, she partnered with Village Orthodontics to help bring literacy awareness to local communities.
What is Village Reads all about?
Village Reads is about bringing literacy across Canada. We will be partnering with local schools across Ontario and Winnipeg to donate gently used books to libraries that need it the most.
Literacy is something that many of us take for granted. We may have had the resources, support and education to develop these skills. However, not all people or communities may have access to sufficient resources to help promote the importance of literacy.
High literacy rates enhance the whole community and set the stage for future leaders.
I represent a school or organization, how can I get involved?
Are you part of a school that would like book donations? Are you an organization that has books to donate? We want to hear from you! Contact us to learn more about the program and we will get back to you!
